Table 1
Table 2
Table 1 shows extracts analized for their content of furostanol saponins with reference to protodioscin. The first four products are different batches of extract produced by Sopharma, i.e. Bulgarian Tribulus extract. The rest of the products are from different parts of the world. You can see for yourself the tremendous difference between the Bulgarian extract and the rest in regard to furostanol saponins content with an average of 54% compared to the rest with range of 0.1 – 20%.
Table 2 presents some market leading Tribulus terrestris products, which are analyzed for furostanol saponins content with reference to protodioscin. The results are presented as quantity (g) of furostanol saponins in one tablet/capsule. Again, notice the tremendous difference between the Bulgarian product “Tribestan” by “Sopharma” with an average content of 113 mg furostanol saponins per tablet, and all other products with ranges of 0.5 – 22 mg per tablet/capsule.
We would like to note that VemoHerb® Tribulus by the Bulgarian company Vemo 99 Ltd is based on dry extract from Bulgarian Tribulus terrestris with a content of 60% furostanol saponins with reference to protodioscin. Each capsule contains 200 mg extract, which on average equals 120 mg furostanol saponins with reference to protodioscin.
It is clear from the study above that all products from Table 2 except “Tribestan” are not based on Bulgarian Tribulus extract. Their content most likely is based on Chinese or Indian extracts, or just grinded generic herb.
To summarize, if you have ever used a supplement based on Tribulus terrestris and didn’t get the expected results, now you know why – it probably wasn’t the Bulgarian Tribulus extract.
Almost all studies that prove the benefits of the plant Tribulus terrestris are based on Bulgarian Tribulus extract. So, if you want to benefit from all positive effects of the Tribulus terrestris herb, it is very important to use a product based on real Bulgarian extract. Don’t waste your money for cheap generics!
We hope that the information discussed above was useful and clarifies the main advantages of Bulgarian Tribulus terrestris extract compared to all other worldwide extracts. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us here.
